Oregon Business Council

The mission of the Oregon Business Council is to mobilize business leaders to contribute to Oregon’s quality of life and economic prosperity. Directors apply their energies, knowledge, and leadership, as well as the resources of their companies, to accomplish this mission. As a context for this work, we embrace the vision of the Oregon Business Plan, an economic development forum that calls for growing more well paying jobs, increasing state per capita income to exceed the national average, and substantially reducing poverty.

Value-Added Agricultural Products - Oregon State University Extension Service

Our prime agriculture-producing region lends itself to the production of value-added agricultural products. To help entrepreneurs interested in developing value-added agricultural products, the Community Council in conjunction with the Oregon State University Umatilla County Extension Service developed a Value-Added Agriculture website of resources. Included in the website under "Resources" is an electronic copy of Joe Locati's Horticultural Heritage of Walla Walla County, 1818-1977, which gives a historical perspective as to which crops have been successful in the past and some of the economics involved.
